Kenyan road users have been involved in tragic road traffic accidents as the population has grown and motorization has increased.
I set out to analyze the most common times and locations where accidents occur in order to assist police in identifying problem locations and times for enforcement; Have appropriate clusters in which they could assist policymakers at the national, regional, and local levels in setting crash reduction targets, developing road safety action plans, and monitoring performance.
This project involves text analysis on Covid-19 tweets extracted from Twitter using Python.
Among other things, the goal is to perform text processing, sentiment analysis & keyword extraction in order to gather and present insights from the data.
Given information on thousands of traffic accidents that occurred in Nairobi, Kenya in 2018 and 2019, as identified by the World Bank DIME research team and Flare, I set out to find locations for 6 ambulances every 3 hours during the test period. We will calculate the distance from each crash recorded in the training data to the nearest ambulance based on our scheduled locations. The total distance traveled (in decimal degrees) by all ambulances during the test period determines the final score. The goal is to place the six ambulances in locations that minimize the final score.
Financial inclusion remains one of the most significant barriers to African economic and human development. In Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda, for example, only 9.1 million adults (or 13.9% of the adult population) have access to or use a commercial bank account.
This project seeks to determine whether or not a resident has access to a bank account.
